most think of two different situations when they hear the word "renaissance." One is the time where the likes of leonardo davinci and michelangelo flourished in 14th and 15th century italy. the second is the harlem renaissance of 1920's and 30's, where a large number of black creatives made powerful contributions to the visual, literary, and musical arts.Both of these periods were associated with collectives overcoming periods of immense stress. italy was coming out of the black plague and war. black americans moved to harlem to escape domestic terrorism in the south.in current times, the stresses may be different, but we can still draw parallels. the events of 2019-2022 have left a toll on humanity. we are in the process changing and will have to find a new equilibrium as a society. without a doubt, we are living through the next renaissance period.the blackbird renaissance is an engineered response that takes advantage of this era of transition to address long standing issues of society. it will be characterized by the construction of a world that more accurately represents the ideas, hopes, and wishes of the collective. the renovation of the american citizen's status in the world, where they are direct reflections and representative of the power and influence their government has over the world. a renewal of pride, respect, and trust in governing bodies. where things previously unseen and undiscussed come to light..
